Defense Minister Amir Peretz told Israel's cabinet on Wednesday that while Syria makes public statements about wanting to resume peace talks, it is preparing for the possibility of war with Israel.
He also accused the regime of Syrian dictator Bashar Assad of interfering in Lebanon by working behind the scenes against the pro-Western government of Prime Minister Fuad Siniora.
