An Israeli naval commando officer was killed and three other soldiers wounded Tuesday during a fierce gun battle with “Palestinian” terrorists responsible for the murder of numerous Jewish civilians in past homicide bomb attacks on Israeli cities.
Captain Moran Vardi, 25-year-old team leader of the elite Shayetet 13 unit sent into the biblical Samarian town of Shechem, was shot dead as troops under his command hunted down the local heads of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
PFLP terror bosses Yamon Faraj and Amjed Hanani were eliminated during the raid. Two Palestinian Arab civilians were also killed when Faraj used their apartment as cover to attack the Israelis.
Elsewhere, IDF troops shot and killed two armed “Palestinians” in the Gaza Strip Tuesday morning after they opened fire on and hurled grenades at an army outpost.
In southern Gaza, a terrorist bomb was discovered and safely detonated along the “Philadelphia Route” in the border town of Rafiah.
