The international community, which last July furiously screamed their demand that Israel sign a ceasefire with Lebanon’s Hizb’allah, has since then sat uncaringly by and watched Hizb’allah brazenly violate the terms of the ceasefire and rearm in preparation for the next phase in its war against the Jewish state.
According to a senior IDF officer quoted in The Jerusalem Post Thursday, Hizb’allah has nearly been restored to its full pre-July strength as, for more than four months; Syria has allowed open truckloads of weapons to be transferred to Hizb’allah “for the whole world to see.”
The same officer said that it was “just a matter of time” before Hizb’allah attacks Israel again.
Meanwhile, the IDF’s land, air and sea forces are preparing for a war Israeli Military Intelligence and numerous analysts in Israel and abroad appear to agree will be fought in 2007.
