Shabbat Kassam rockets from Gaza

Gaza Strip Arabs fired two missiles at Israeli targets Friday evening, shortly after the Sabbath began.

While the Kassam’s failure to kill one or more Jews would have disappointed the attackers, the news that an Israeli had been wounded when one of the rockets shattered windows in the Negev town of Sderot was expected to elicit at least some joy.

The other rocket detonated inside a kibbutz (Jewish collective farm) causing some damage but no injuries.

Shabbat’s strikes brought to four the number of missiles launched against Israel Friday.

Despite the daily flagrant violation of the ceasefire from the Arab side, and unmoved by the growing clamoring from his citizens for an IDF response to the attacks, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert continues to exercise his self-imposed policy of “restraint.”

Fed-up with the official inertia, a number of Sderot’s residents are reportedly preparing to petition the High Court, demanding a harsher government response to the unrelenting attacks on their town.
