Hell for residents of Israeli town where rockets rain

Thousands of residents of the Negev town of Sderot are being observed by the local mental health center suffering from insomnia, depression, inability to work and medication dependency, according to the center director.

Since 1990, Arabs in the Gaza Strip have sent thousands of missiles slamming into and around the town, driving many to leave, and dealing repeated body blows to the economy as businesses have been forced to close.

Sderot residents feel abandoned by their government.

If the Kassam rockets were being fired into Tel Aviv, there would be a response, they say. But because Sderot is a poor, working man's town, no-one cares.

As for the international community which worked to ensure Israel abandon Gaza in 2005, it is not interested, or even aware, that people in a town called Sderot are suffering as a direct result of their appeasement policies.
