'Palestinians' offer Israel another 'despicable truce'

Hamas Palestinian Authority prime minister Ismail Haniyeh Saturday offered Israel a 10-year truce.

Some of his top officials, however, said that the truce was intended to create breathing-space, enabling the Arab terror group to prepare a large army in readiness for a final onslaught on Israel.

The tactic is not a new one. Shortly after signing the Oslo Accords with Israel in 1993, arch-terrorist Yasser Arafat stood up in a Johannesburg mosque and told his knowing and approving audience that the deal signed with Israel was to be understood as "a despicable truce."

In Islamic law a peace treaty may be signed with an enemy in order for the Muslim side to buy time and strengthen itself.

When thus strengthened, the Muslim side may scrap the treaty and attack.
