Next month, all of Israel will participate in a massive drill simulating nuclear and chemical attacks on the country's major population centers.
The decision to hold such an exercise comes amid growing fears that Iran and Syria will use proxies such as Hizb'allah to attack the Jewish state with such weapons in the future.
Hizb'allah fired 4,000 rockets into Israel during last summer's Lebanon war, and intelligence suggests that both Syria and Iran are resupplying the group and equipping with with even more advanced missiles.
Nor is the possibility of a direct Iranian or Syrian attack being ignored.
Last month, Syria tested a new delivery of long-range Russian-made missiles capable of delivering heavy payloads on just about any part of Israel.
Iran also says that it has developed ballistic missiles capable of reaching the Jewish state and even Europe.
