Syrian provocateurs hurled ten land mines onto an IDF patrol route along the border in the Golan Heights on Saturday.
An army patrol later came across the mines and called in sappers to disarm them.
The mines came from an Israeli minefield that lies in a narrow buffer zone between Israel's security fence and the international border.
A UN observer force stationed in the area is supposed to keep Syrians from entering the strip of land, which is technically inside Israel.
Jerusalem plans to file an official complaint over the UN force's failure to do its job.
