Israeli security forces were on high alert Sunday as the nation celebrated the festival of Purim, commemorating the Jews' delivery from the hands of Persian anti-Semites bent on their destruction 2,500 years ago.
The IDF sealed off Palestinian Authority-controlled areas in Judea and Samaria to ensure that terrorists were unable to reach public areas where Jews were celebrating during the holiday.
"Palestinian" terror groups make a regular practice of targeting Israelis during Jewish holy days, when the nation's Jewish population is typically gathered in open and public areas and therefore easier to mass murder.
