A previously unknown Syrian group has claimed credit for hurling old mines over an Israeli security fence and onto an IDF patrol route on the Golan Heights.
The incident occurred last week. An IDF patrol discovered the mines lying in the open and managed to safely disarm them.
The group behind the failed attack said it is modeling itself on Lebanon's Hizb'allah, and that an escalation in its aggression against Israel can be expected.
