It was revealed earlier this week that some of the $100 million in frozen tax revenues that the US pressured Israel to hand over to PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas was then given to Hamas.
Palestinian Authority sources openly admitted as much on Tuesday, stating that the official Hamas-controlled security force "was part of the security services that received part of their salaries, just like the other forces."
Israel agreed to transfer the funds only after obtaining guarantees from both Abbas and Washington that the money would not go to strengthen the Hamas-led government, which remains dedicated to Israel's destruction.
American lawmakers have been engaged in heavy debate over whether or not to renew financial aid to the parts of the PA controlled by and loyal to Abbas, while somehow bypassing Hamas.
If this week's revelation is anything to go by, the US had best keeps its taxpayers' dollars in its own pockets if it does not want to become a terror financier.
