A spokesman for PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday tried to again get the message through to the West that so-called "moderates" in Fatah are now fully aligned in purpose and approach with the Hamas terrorist organization.
Western governments, including the United States, responded to last week's formation of a "Palestinian" power-sharing government on a hostile platform by stating that they will continue to shun Hamas, while fully engaging the Fatah members of the regime.
But leading Fatah spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh was cited by Ha'aretz as saying that approach represents a flawed view of the new "Palestinian" unity.
The cabinet ministers are carrying out the platform of the entire government, not just that of their parties or political organizations.
That platform conspicuously fails to recognize Israel's right to exist, and safeguards the "right" of Palestinian Arab groups to engage in "resistance" - a common euphemism for terrorism - against the Jewish state.
