US President George W. Bush remained adamant Friday that his vision of two states living side-by-side in the Middle East was the solution that would bring an end to decades of Arab-Israeli fighting.
Speaking as he dispatched his secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice, back to the region, Bush said:
Peace in the Middle East is a priority for this administration. [Rice is] going to continue our efforts to involve all parties, the Palestinians [sic], the Israelis, the Arabs, to work for a solution that will lead to peace, and that is a Palestinian state living side by side with Israel in peace and security.
