An suspected Arab gunman tried to kill an Israeli awaiting a ride at a hitchhiking station in Samaria, not far from Shechem.

The victim was shot in the thigh and moderately wounded. He is being treated in a Petach Tikvah hospital and is expected to recover well.

IDF forces reportedly arrived quickly at the scene of the attack, fanning out to search for the terrorist.

According to at least one local newspaper, the car from which the shot was fired was carrying a large number of weapons

The number of drive-by shooting attacks in Samaria and Judea has lessened in the past year, as Israeli security forces have increased their war on terror.

Reports this week indicated that the Hamas terrorist organization has rallied and is preparing to resume frequent and bloody attacks.
