Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert had a personal political purpose in signing his agreement with Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas Saturday granting amnesty to 180 wanted Fatah terrorists.
This is according to Member of Knesset, Aryeh Eldad, who Monday attacked Olmert's arrangement that will enable dozens of Jew-killing Arab fugitives to continue with their terrorism, but now in conjunction with the PA.
Eldad, a member of the National Union list's Moledet Party, described the agreement as "a mixture of criminal spin and sheer stupidity."
Olmert "knows that most of the Jews that were murdered during the second intifada were killed by Tanzim and 'The Shaheeds of Al-Aqsa' - both are Fatah terrorist organizations," he charged.
The reason Olmert went ahead and signed the agreement nonetheless was to enable him to eke out a few extra months as prime minister.
"And that's stupidity," Eldad said.
