Israel-dividing meeting underway in Lisbon

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice flew to Lisbon, Portugal, Thursday to chair a meeting of nations united in their resolve to erect a Muslim Arab state on the biblical heartland of the Jewish people in the Middle East.

Rice is spearheading this effort to reward decades of Arab terrorism and antisemitism by granting a non-nation - the "Palestinians" - a homeland of their own for the first time in history, at Israel's expense.

Meeting in Lisbon is the so-called Great Powers Quartet (the US, EU, UN and Russia), which is convening ostensibly to look for ways to bring peace to the Middle East, but will in reality be deliberating about how to get Israel to make more "concessions" and "good will gestures" to encourage the Palestinian Arabs to agree to further talks.

The land earmarked by the international community for Palestine [which, please God, will never be born-Ed] is the cradle of the Jewish nation, and includes such significant biblical towns and cities as Hebron, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Bethel, Shiloh and Shechem.

It is the land millions of Jews prayed for thousands of years to return to after they were driven into exile by the Roman Empire in AD 70 and 135.

And it is the land that was restored to Jewish control in a war of self-defense against five Arab armies 40 years ago.

Speaking to reporters on her plane earlier Thursday, Rice said the United States intends to continue playing the lead role in this process.

Former British Prime Minister Tony is also in Madrid where he will hear from the Quartet how he is to act on their behalf as special envoy to the Middle East.

According to reports, Blair wants to play an active part in the diplomacy, but for now is to be limited to more mundane activities - like raising funds for the Palestinians, building their ruling institutions and promoting their economic development.
