Police, soldiers drive off Jews trying to return to settlement

Hundreds of Jews reportedly tried to make their way back to the site of a settlement outpost called Homesh Sunday night and Monday.

Right wing Jews have been vowing to return to the site since thousands were forcefully - sometimes brutally - removed as part of the 2005 "Disengagement Plan."

On Monday hundreds of soldiers and police went in to once again remove the settlers, many of whom were teenagers.

IDF officials, who clearly do not share the Zionist spirit of the settlers, expressed resentment that they had to "chase the activists" instead of continuing their training.

Israeli society is deeply divided between those Jews who, on the one hand either believe it is their God-ordained duty or their historic right to resettle their ancient homeland, and on the other those who are willing to surrender that land for the ethereal Arab promise of peace.
