Having successfully ousted PLO/PA chief Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah forces from the Gaza Strip, the Hamas leadership is now looking to mirror its successful power grab of earlier this summer and seize control of Judea and Samaria.
This is Abbas' complaint and fear, according to a report in The Jerusalem Post Sunday.
"We have information that Hamas is planning to copy the Gaza coup in the West Bank," the aging terrorist-in-a-necktie said. "It's no secret that international parties are supporting Hamas in its efforts."
Abbas' aides listed Syria, Iran and Qatar as the instigating parties.
Despite Hamas' belligerency, the PA leader extended an olive branch if only the group would back down.
"Hamas is an integral part of the Palestinian people and we are prepared to talk to them if they cede control over the Gaza Strip," Abbas said.
