Four Palestinian Arabs from the Gaza Strip crossed the "border" "into Israel" Wednesday and opened fire on Israeli civilians at a gas station near Kibbutz Nahal Oz, in the south of the country.

Two more Israelis were wounded in the attack before Israeli security forces shot and killed two of the terrorists.

Credit for the murders was jointly claimed by Palestine Islamic Jihad (PIJ), the Fatah's Al-Aqsa Brigades and the Popular Resistance Committees.

They had successfully executed a "unique and complicated operation" details of which would be released later, PIJ spokesman Abu Ahmad told the press.

According to reports, the killers crossed "into Israel" at the Karmi Crossing, just 48 hours after Israel had allowed 128 trucks carrying humanitarian aid including fuel into Gaza.

Mortar fire was rained down on the area from Gaza shortly before the shootings, eyewinesses said.

Other witnesses in Gaza reported IDF tanks crossed into the Strip after the attack.

"We are surrounded by tanks. It's a war out there," Arab farmer Munther Rhami said, according to Ha'aretz.
