Two Israelis, one of them a boy, were killed following a Tuesday morning Kassam rocket attack as Palestinian Arab terrorists did their best to mark election day by murdering and maiming as many Israelis as possible.

The victims were Bedouin shepherds who apparently attempted to salvage the metal from the rocket after it was fired from Palestinian Authority-controlled northern Gaza into the Western Negev region, landing near Kibbutz Nahal Oz.

The Islamic Jihad terror group claimed credit for the bombardment, which was the second Kassam attack of the morning, the first resulting in no casualties.

Last week the PA's Hamas rulers promised their people that there would no longer be any punishment for launching such attacks against Israel.

Meanwhile, police forces were at the highest alert level throughout Israel Tuesday amid 85 intelligence warnings of planned "Palestinian" attacks meant to disrupt and influence the election of the 17th Knesset.

In other violence, one IDF soldier was wounded during an operation to arrest a wanted Fatah terrorist in the Judean town of Bethlehem Tuesday morning. The security forces sent into Bethlehem reportedly came under heavy attack from makeshift bombs and automatic gunfire.
