Jews, Christians strengthen ties

Israel's Jews and the Evangelical Christian movement in America will further strengthen their growing bond next month when the Knesset's Christian Allies Caucus hosts a special conference in Forth Worth, Texas.

The conclusion of the conference on September 5 will see Christian and Jewish leaders sign the Jerusalem Accords, reaffirming their alliance and establishing a united Judea-Christian front to face the threat of radical Islam.

?The rise of radical Islam threatens the Judeo-Christian values and the civilization we share, and we are building the alliance with which Jews and Christians together will face this ominous challenge,? said caucus co-Chairman MK Yuri Shtern.

The conference will be attended by a US senator and two congressmen, as well as six members of Israel's Knesset. Some of America's most respected Christian leaders will also address the gathering.

Earlier this month, the Christian Allies Caucus participated in a similar event in Seoul, South Korea, where over one thousand Christian religious, political and business leaders from around Asia gathered in a show of support for the Jewish state.

Speaking at the second Jerusalem Summit Asia, Shtern said, ?Asia is Christianity's sleeping giant. The importance of an alliance between Asian Christians and the people of Israel cannot be overstated.?

Participants in the summit issued a formal declaration, vowing to petition their respective governments to move their embassies to Jerusalem, curb their nations' support for anti-Israel UN resolutions, and stop Asian funding for the PLO.

Evangelical Christians the world over believe that according to the Word of God, what is historically known as the Land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people, and that their support for Jewish sovereignty in this land is a fulfillment of divine prophecy.

Established as an ?unbiased? body, the Christian Allies Caucus is driven by Israeli Jews who recognize their spiritual bond with bible-believing Christians, and seek to nurture and harness Christian support for Israel amid international efforts to tear the Jews from their birthright.
