Top Arab journalist slams 'Palestinians'

A top international Arab journalist has slammed the "Palestinians" for continuing to entertain and pursue fantasies of defeating Israel, while their children unnecessarily suffer in a morass of illiteracy, squalor and suicidal dreams.

In an editorial published last Friday by the New York Sun, Youssef Ibrahim urged the Palestinian Arabs to wake up to reality.

"The war with Israel is over. You have lost. Surrender and negotiate to secure a future for your children."

Ibrahim explained that while the wider Arab world makes grand statements about supporting the "Palestinians," the chances of any Arab state actually going to war with Israel over the "Palestinian" issue are next to nothing.

"We, your Arab brothers, may say until we are blue in the face that we stand by you, but the wise among you and most of us know that we are moving on, away from the tired old idea of the Palestinian Arab cause and the 'eternal struggle' with Israel."

He goes on to point out that the "Palestinians" could have had their own state in 1948, and that clinging to the conflict is causing the amount of land they can expect to receive to steadily decrease.

Meanwhile, "Palestinian" society and the local economy lay in ruins, leaving little hope for the coming generations.

"Your young people are growing up illiterate, ill, and bent on rites of death and suicide... Every day your officials must beg for your daily bread...while your criminal Muslim fundamentalist Hamas government continues to fan the flames of a war it can neither fight nor hope to win."

And before Hamas, it was PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas' mentor, Yasser Arafat, who practiced such oppression.

"Before you got stuck with this Hamas crowd [Ed. Note - actually, Hamas was overwhelmingly elected], another cheating, conniving, leader of yours, Yasser Arafat, sold you a rotten bill of goods ? more pain, greater corruption, and millions stolen by his relatives ? while your children played in the sewers of Gaza."

Ibrahim notably strayed from the traditional line of blaming Israel for the abysmal conditions under which Arab men, women and children live in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Authority and its eager partners in the international mainstream media regularly promote that notion, despite the fact the Palestinian Arabs have been the recipients of more Western financial aid per capita than any people group on earth.
